Chapter Twenty-One

Brenna

Jacob’s fingers are tangled in mine, and I’m leaning against his shoulder. We’ve moved into the backseat, which makes me feel like a teenager who is getting ready for a night in a make-out location. However, it is by far better for cuddling.

And Jacob is a great cuddler.

I have no idea what the hell the movie is about other than it’s super sappy. Mostly, I can’t focus because he comments on every cheesy line.

“No dude says that,” Jacob clarifies.

“You know, for an actor, you’re the worst person to watch a movie with. I figured you’d at least be quiet and observant.”

He snorts. “This isn’t acting, beautiful. This is crap. Lots and lots of crap. The sad part is that, before Navigator, I would’ve given my right or left nut for any part, including this.”

“It’s a good thing you didn’t lose a nut then.”

“You like my nuts?”

I roll my eyes. “All men are the same.”

“That we are.”

“Now, shh so I can watch the movie.”

He pulls me tighter to his chest and does that. I start to get into it a bit more, but then cars start to leave.

Jacob looks around, noticing it too. “See, others think this isn’t worth staying for either.”

“We drove an hour out here, paid to see the movie, and we still haven’t had the cake.”

He lifts my chin so he can look me in the eyes. “I didn’t say we were leaving. I have a few hours with you, and I intend to enjoy every minute of them.”

I really wish he weren’t so sweet. The fears I have about falling for him become more real each time I’m around him. If he were a jerk, it would be easy to just have great sex and call it a day, but he’s not.

He’s directing a freaking play to make my son happy.

“Good. I like that.”

“Now, it seems we have fewer people to worry about seeing us.” Jacob’s hand moves down my back, bringing me tighter to his chest.

“And what would they see us doing?”

He grins, his hand moving to my leg. “For starters, they might see me trying to get my hand under your skirt.”

His thumb grazes the top of my thigh.

“That would be embarrassing if someone saw.”

“We wouldn’t want them to see when I went completely under though.”

I shake my head, agreeing as he does just that. “Jacob,” I gasp as I feel him graze my underwear.

Thankfully, I adjusted my wardrobe when Cybil basically shoved us into this date.

My breathing grows shallower as he moves it to the side and starts to play with my clit. “You like this? You like the idea of someone seeing me do this to you?”

It’s not exactly a fantasy I had, but there’s an element of danger to it that thrills me. Mostly, though, it’s him. It’s that Jacob wants me badly enough to risk us being caught.

“I like you doing this because it’s you.”

The sound that comes from his mouth tells me he likes that answer. “You’re the only woman I want to do this with.
